What wouldn’t you give to see a child in your community succeed? Whether you’re a parent, sibling or someone just entering adulthood yourself, there’s probably a young person in your life that you’ve gladly helped along their path to becoming all that they can be. At ImageFIRST, a provider of healthcare linen services in Louisville, KY and beyond, we know that our customers are a crucial part of making sure that children in our communities stay healthy, whether through regular check-ups or life-saving surgeries.
But why put all the responsibility on medical facilities and other caretakers? We can come together as a community to help the children in our lives succeed, and having fun doing it, too. That’s why ImageFIRST partners with charities like Ronald McDonald House Charities and Habitat for Humanity, which help families, especially families with children in the case of the former, live and breathe easier in uncertain times. We also partner with schools across the nation that are doing remarkable things to rear resilient, capable and creative kids who will go on to have bright futures. Each time our associates attend one of these community giving events, they return with a visible glow of happiness.
This year, we’re preparing for back-to-school season with our National Back Pack Drive. The drive is just another way our associates approach community giving with enthusiasm, spirit and heart. Here’s how it works: ImageFIRST locations like ImageFIRST Chicago will purchase backpacks, and then select an organization (many of them schools) to donate them to. Of course, we can’t just drop off empty backpacks. In fact, organizations provide us with a list of materials they need, such as pencils, folders, art supplies and more.
Then, the competition begins. ImageFIRST locations compete with each other to gather the most donated supplies. Donations come from associates, leadership, and ImageFIRST at each location, but by no means is participation limited to ImageFIRST alone. Our associates will spend the month of July telling customers, vendors and community members about the Back Pack Donation Drive and the purpose it serves. If past Drives are any indication, there’s nothing better than a competition that also helps young people and other community members in need. Our associates are bound to have a blast again this year.
